A complete team effort is what best sums up Notts County Ladies under 10s today as they faced a Gedling side who had won 11 nil the previous week! in the plate competition match at Church Lane. Chelsea Musgrove raised her hand when deciding to pull on the gloves and for the 4x10min quarters did a fine job making it hard for the attackers to get past her. New girl Lydia Sears a little nervous at first soon settled in and chased down the opposition well as did Paris Greenham who worked hard in the middle of the park getting stuck in. The goals soon came as Lucia Wardle who has the knack of being in the right place at the right time scored 2 super goals. Ellie Barrow marked the Gedling forward throughout the game making it hard for them to break clear. As this was going on goal machine Phoebe-Wardle-Collins netted a double hatrick! which came about from quick counter attacks and dogged defending from Elena Gale who released great long range passes up to midfield also taking one in the chops but carrying on. Captain Chloe Phillips constantly solid with her tackles, heading and her general attitude was a pleasure to watch. It was a physical game as several girls took knocks especially Phoebe but they all soldiered on. Proud today of the spirit and effort by all the girls running out 8-1 winners.Well done girls.
