An early Sunday morning wet and windy kick off didn’t dampen the spirits of both Bingham and Notts County under 11s as they put on an exciting end to end game of football. Notts County debut for Alicia James Sandin who always looked to attack the Bingham defence, Rebecca Needham gong between the sticks with defenders Ellie Barrow and Sally Warsop Hook combining and looking strong and in control at the back. Mia Harrison was working hard in midfield to support striker Ameliyah Rimell. Bingham were the first to find the back of the net but County soon found the equaliser when Rebecca Needham in goal distributed the ball to Ellie Barrow who’s long range pass found Ameliyah Rimell in space and with the ball at her feet rounded the defender to slot the ball passed the advancing keeper. Just before the break County took the lead with a carbon copy of their first. Right from the restart of the second period Bingham found the equaliser and then took the lead with a good finish. County pushed forward and piled on the pressure creating goal scoring chances. It was Ameliyah who won the ball from a wide position and went on a solo run unleashing a rocket shot beating the keeper. A fair result as neither team deserved to loose today as they put on a terrific entertaining game. Player of the match could have gone to anyone today but it was awarded to goalkeeper Rebecca Needham whose confidence has grown and her ball handling and distribution was very pleasing to see. A terrific team performance, with players playing for each other, as well as beginning to play and understand their roles and positions. Goals: Ameliyah Rimell 3. Player of the match Rebecca Needham
