For their second game of the new season, Notts County travelled away to established Premier side Ellistown WFC. The first period was end to end stuff in an open game, with both sides having chances and the best coming from County’s Robyn Henton and April Bingham. Neither team could break the deadlock and they went into the break goalless. The second period was much of the same but Ellistown pushed for the goal putting the pressure on County’s defence who didn’t let down. The Home side’s perseverance eventually pulled off and they took the lead with a well taken goal (1-0). County responded well but failed to find the equaliser. Despite the disappointment of coming away with nothing, the girls have proved that they are competitive and belong in the Premier League. Player of the Match awarded to April Bingham. Team: Allcock, Bear, Mason, Wibberley, Evans, Bingham, Henton, Horton, Steeples, Barlow, Walters. Subs: Kokkinou, Barnes, Bradshaw.
