A pleasing win today for the Senior reserves against a spirited Aspley who despite losing 10 - 0 they only had ten players. The trademark first goal came from none other than Jade Sheppard following a great pass from Cath Eyley who herself scored after Jessie Knott battled in midfield, and then Cath popped up again to supply Katrina Bloomer who scored with a header. To round off the half Lauren Wilson won the ball well to feed Ashleigh Harris who blasted in at the near post. County had 2 familiar faces in the team today, Jade Zoe Benniston and Sammie Barlow who worked tirelessly to sweep up in defence and set up goals. The second half started brightly as Cath Eyley scored a screamer from literally 2 yards in from the corner flag and the Barlow set her up for her hat trick. This was Cath's third hat trick of the season so far. Cath then put a cross in for Ellie Marriott to score with a brilliant looping header. Nicola Tomkinson kept it tidy at the back with keeper Chelsea Taylor until Nic got a nasty injury and a huge bruise to show for it. Also in defence was Rhiannon Middleton who worked her socks off, set up Kat for her second and earned herself Player of the match. Barlow again set up Carolanne Young for a cool bottom corner finish and then Mazza swept in a great corner for Charley MacLaren to give her dad a great birthday pressie with a headed goal. A neat performance, hard working passing game.

Notts County Ladies Development 1st team Travelled away to Mansfield Hosiery to kick start their County Cup campaign, as last season the team reached the final coming up against Nottingham Forest. County started the better and had good possession throughout the first half and created a number of goal scoring chances. County pressing for the opener allowed Mansfield to hit them on the counter with a shot high into the top netting 1-0. The magpies responded when April Bingham received the ball from Robyn Henton and from a wide angled hot a lofted shot into the far top corner 1-1. Just before the break Lauren Yeomans was brought down in the box and Courtney Walters stepped up and smashed the ball into the roof of the net 1-2. Only 2 minutes into the second period Robyn Henton received the ball on the edge of the box and with time and space thumped the ball over the keeper 1-3. County were playing their football in the home sides half and were creating goal scoring chances but failing to hit the target. County were in control but on 80 minutes the referee deemed a penalty as a county player handballed in the penalty area which was disputed as it was felt it was unavoidable and outside the box. The decision was made and Mansfield got themselves back into the game for a nervy last 10 minutes 2-3. The player of the match was awarded to Emma Bradshaw for strong tackling and her link up play with mid-field.

Notts County reserves were up against it today but took the fight to Teversal in the county cup, Notts were playing the better football which rewarded them 2 goals from Jade Sheppard. The tide turned as the Teversal boots began flying in and they levelled before half time. Never say die attitude from player of the match Jessie Knott in the second half could not get Notts a goal and Teversal went ahead from a good corner. Poor decisions by the referee didn’t help County’s cause but credit to the team who just battled against all the adversity.

Notts County Ladies Development 1st team travelled to Regatta Way to take on Westbridgford. County were well in control but despite the possession and goal scoring chances it took 36 minutes to find the back of the Westbridgford goal. Robyn Henton winning the ball in mid-field ran the ball forward and unleashed a rocket shot on the edge of the box 0-1. County were peppering the Westbridgford goal and denied time and time by good goalkeeping and the woodwork. On 40 minutes aheavy tackle saw left back Lauren Marsh had to leave the field of play with a nasty injury and replaced by Courtney Evans. The game was re-started and just before the half-time whistle County doubled their lead when Robyn won the ball from a goal kick and slotted the ball through the Bridgford defence for Courtney Walter to run onto, took one touch out of her feet and hit it low and hard into the corner 0-2. The second period got underway and on 55 minutes Lauren Yeomans returning back from injury made way for Androulla Kokkinou. Great first time passing down the left side resulted in a wonderful goal as April Bingham cut inside and opened up to hit a sweet shot lobbing the keeper into the far top corner 0-3. On the hour County found their fourth when Anna Horton slotted the ball through for Robyn to run the ball straight down the middle and thumped the ball into the bottom corner 0-4. Just 10 minutes later Jasmin Bear opens up on the near post after receiving a wonderful pass from April to lob the keeper into far corner 0-5. Three minutes later Jess Wibberley deep in defence hit a beautiful weighted pass into Jasmin who played the ball inside to Courtney Walters who set up Robyn to hit a powerful shot which span out of the keepers hands to roll over the goal line 0-6. Number seven came with both Courtneys combining and Courtney Walters finishing with a cheeky goal through the advancing keeper legs 0-7. The last 2 goals of the afternoon came from Androulla with her first being a poachers goal latching onto a spilled save0-8 and her second and final goal of the game hitting a sweet volley from an April Bingham cross 0-9. A blustery morning was completed with blowing away Bingham Town Ladies with a 4 - 0 win for Notts County senior reserves. The luxury of 2 subs was needed as injuries hit again and non-more so than Katrina Bloomer who had a blinding game until an ankle injury side-lined her. Captain Ellie Marriott was happy and confident in defence as Lauren Wilson has re-joined the club and came straight back into the side. After a series of good corners, Kirsty Peat and Cath Eyley cleverly lined up a free kick and Kirsty scored. Moments later the superb player of the match Jade Sheppard scored following hard work from Jessie Knott. Charley MacLaren and Nicola Tomkinson had great games and playing against her old team Rhiannon Middleton got stuck in. The 3rd goal came following a great Peat run and shot that Ashleigh Harris nipped in and slotted home. In goal Chelsea Taylor pulled off some great saves and goals kicks, and finally a mistake by the Bingham keeper saw Carolanne Young steaming in it to score at the end.
